Closing the deal:converting leads into distributors

July 9th, 2009 Andrew Collinson No comments

You would think that with all these online lead generation techniques like social media, ezine articles, and blogs that signing people up is an automatic process.

It’s as if you never have to talk to people who join your business. They just sign and start recruiting their distributors themselves, and you laugh as your commission checks get bigger.

Well I am sorry to disappoint you, but it’s not that simple.

You still have to covert people from prospects to distributors. That means talking to them.

Does the thought of that fill you with fear? Are your hands getting sweaty just thinking about picking up the phone?

Well these is a way of overcoming those fears. It involves a mindshift from the way you think about your business.Instead of praying that someone will join your team, think of it as a job interview.

In this interview you are interviewer and the prospect is the interviewee. They have to convince you that they are good enough to join your team.

Think in this way and you will never have any fear when you pick up that phone.Remember it is your business not the business of your opportunity. If you had your own bricks and mortar business, would you recruit anyone who came knocking on your door looking for work?

To hear more about the techniques you must have to recruit in big numbers watch this free video of  attraction marketing guru Mike Dillard in conversation with the man who recruited him into his primary business opportunity.

It’s a one hour video packed with great advice, and it’s free.

Have a great day

Andrew

Mike Dillard’s Black Belt Recruiting

May 13th, 2009 Andrew Collinson No comments

Here is a video I did looking at Mike Dillard’s Black Belt Recruiting. This is a book and 6 cd set in which Mike talks to the man who signed him up to one of his first opportunities, Mark Wieser. There are great tools out there to generate leads but they all must eventually be converted into distributors or at least customers.

Mike and Mark take through most of the common objections heard when talking to prospects and how to deal with them, like “how much money do you make?” or “mlm is a pyramid scheme”.

In essence you need to start thinking of your conversations with a prospects as a job interview, with you asking all the questions.Don’t be needy and think ” I must get this person in my business”.As Mike says ” he who cares the least wins”.

If you want to get some free videos from Mike first go here, they are great in themselves.
Anyway here is the video

4 ways to better recruiting

Lead generating is one thing but then you have to close. When starting out you may be eager to recruit as many people as possible but this would be a mistake. You need to be recruiting the right kind of people.Make these change and you will start to see results:

  1. Atitude:change you atitude from one of neediness to one of abundance.Make the prospect see they need your more than you need them.
  2. Get them to take action:have them go to your company website or listen to a CD.In this way they will see your leadership, and if they don’t do what you ask of them, then let them go.
  3. Find out their “why”: the prospect must have a burning reason to go into business by themselves,They may say “I want more money” but make sure it is not a lottery money mentality.Make sure they are not expecting you to do all the work.
  4. Control the conversation:remember you are in control so you dictate the conversation. You are interviewing the prospect,so if they start interrupting you with comments and questions say”that’s a great question,I will get to that shortly” then get back to the agenda.

Follow these stratergies and you will find you team is strong and  you not be wasting your time on the tire kickers.
