How to Get More Twitter Followers

1. Following trends in your niche and start commenting on them.Give your take on what is happening don’t just report the news.

2. Leverage other profiles

The more common one is to have your Tweets appear on Facebook. There are numerous applications that will automatically publish your Tweets on Facebook.

3.Ensure your profile image is actually a picture of you if it “brand you” that you want to promote.Avoid cartoon characters and photos of inanimate objects. If you have a company and it has a logo that is OK.

4.Tweet frequently and you will appear in the Twitter public timeline which will increase your online presence. But don’t just tweet about anything, make sure it is relevant.

5.Be conversational and ask questions and you will get more followers, but avoid talking about yourself too much!Talk about someone else or a current topic. In short add value to people’s life.Make their life better for having read your Tweet.

6.Tweet and the right time.As most users are in the US then Tweet in the morning and evening US time across all the US time zones.

7.Just be yourself and write about what you are passionate about and the followers will come.

Google and Panda

Google and Panda

Google and Panda

by permission Werner Holz

Panda is the name given to Google’s latest algorithms update after one of it’s engineers Navneet Panda who has made the algorithms a lot cleverer in deciding which web sites have great content and which have just “pap” that is put there to fool Google.

This pap is material that is paraphrased  from the work of others, added to which is some quickly thought up  content to cover up the that the content is not original .

Then throw in  some link spamming to get the page to rank.

Google is now getting a lot smarter  and can tell when looking at two similar pages which one came first and if the later one is just lifting content from the first  to then be rearranged.

If you are using an outsourcer to write original cotent for $10 then how do you know it is original ?.Where did the writer get his knowledge from?Just be surfing the net using the keyword you gave him?

Thinking of using link farms? You must think “will this help the user” or are you doing it to get a higher ranking.

So keep your content relevant and original and you have nothing to fear.Google have even now added an  extension to Chrome that allows you to ban low value content. So try the test on your own content. How good is it?

You must focus on delivering the best possible experience for your user not try and second guess what changes Google are making to their algorithm.

This means you must avoid niches which pay well but which you have little knowledge or passion for.You will have to do a lot of research to build a good page that ranks highly.Stick with a niche that you have knowledge and passion for. This will show through in the words you write.

Once your site is established and raking well it’s a good idea to pick a few of your better pages and then look at the competition that sits with you on page one of Google.Never mind your position in relation to theirs, just look at their content and see how you can improve yours-BUT DONT’ COPY!

There is a view that a few bad pages on a site will drag down the entire site. Now even the best sites will have 1% or 2%  crap but that will not drag the site down. But should the crap grow to 5% then 10% and more ,a slide is inevitable.

So clean up that weak content and for anything new you add make sure it is good. Then you will have nothing to fear from the Panda.

How many different methods have you tried to make money online?

tool kit

When you first start out in the making money online niche you want the money to come in quickly.

You want to quit that day boring  day job soon .

So you try one thing and are really enthusiastic for a month or so.Then your energy starts to fade and you think “well that just does not work and you try something else.

There is nothing wrong with changing your business model but you must give it at least six months of consistent hard work work.

Pick a month and then work on marketing the c**p out of a product by posting in forums, using social media and video marketing.

It is during this period that you must stay focused and not be tempted to switch again.Your instincts will be to try something new again. But if your business is bringing some money in then look to see how your can scale it up.Can the whole process be outsourced?Build  a system  then write out how it works, and go and get quotes from O Desk or Elance for someone to do it for you.

Marketing is the most important thing. You can have the best product but if no one knows about it you will never make money.

So if that business is not going well, scale the bit that is working and outsource.

Is Your Content Taking Second Place to Income?

Is Your Content Taking Second Place to Income?content

We all want to earn more money from our online endeavours. This is particularly true when we are just starting out.We need to make many purchases to get the business going and little or nothing is coming in.

We are impatient for that first sale so we cram our site with Adsense and affiliate  links.

It is really jarring for the reader if he sees a huge chunk of Adsense straight after the headline. He is looking for content at this time not sale offers. He will hit the back button very quickly if it is difficult for him to find what he wants.

When writing content do not sound like you are Wikipedia. This is very common with official travel sites which give many facts about a place but not much about how the place will make a person feel.If you have been to a place you will have a feeling about it.You should talk about the feeling on your web page. That will set you apart from the “official ” travel websites.

You should wrap text around ads more so the reading process is made easier.Get rid of what earns you little such as Infolinks and large banners.

Read the page out loud and hear how it sounds.Show it to family and friends too, to get their feedback.

Clean up the grammar and check for spelling.Break up the paragraphs too so there is not a huge check of text.

There are other ways to make money than just Adsense and affiliate links.Start to think about creating your own product. That way you get to keep all the sale proceeds.

So look at those long forgotten pages again and bring them up to date.Your page ranking will improve I assure you.

Are you plastering your site with ads?How do you resist the urge to monetize  too quickly?
