Beware Get Rich Quick Schemes

Beware Get Rich Quick Schemesmake money online

There are many get rich schemes  out there on the internet.Get a web site up in seconds add some Adsense and you’ll be making money on autopilot in days.

However in order to make serious money on the internet you must actually add value to it.

So you may think that writing a web page with value will bring you instant riches .It won’t.Why?

The reason is there are now some 8.8 billion pages out there most of which are junk but they are getting in the way of people finding your site. How are people going to find it?How are going to get above all that noise.

Write an article that is full of passion and information and then optimise it for the search engines.Make sure you use a keyword that people are actually using, have that keyword in the header, the headline and in the first sentence of the body copy.

Many of the larger sites are building lots of backfill pages of low quality content which because they are on large sites get high rankings. But Google is getting wise to this and is now putting those pages where they belong like on page 20.

So if you write quality content you will move up the rankings.Include images and video on these pages as the backfill pages from larger sites do not have multimedia as it is too time consuming to put up.Also invite interaction with your page such as a comment box.None of the big guys do that.

Just give Google what it wants, quality content which adds real value and you will beat all the scammers and cheap Adsense sites.

You are a content provider

You are a content provider

presellingIf you build a blog or website you have to steer clear of the need to make money  straight away. You are not a network marketer or an affiliate marketer. You are a content provider first and foremost.

Do not get sucked in by network marketing companies who want to own you are have you market their way.I am not saying don’t do MLM just don’t make selling the product your front end strategy. That needs to come at the back end.

At the front should be tips and tricks on how to generate leads if you are in the MLM niche.People have a much greater need for that than how good your super juicer is.

It’s like a local shop owner who smiles at you are takes an interest in you are your needs.Sure he wants your money but if he is just putting on a front to get your cash, you will sense this soon enough and go somewhere else.

You see this too with some online content which could have been written by a computer. No heart or unique voice in their.People will leave this content in droves.

So please presell first by writing good quality content that is liked by humans and search engines alike.Your clients wil warm to you and then later pull out their credit cards.

The thick end of long tail keywords

Posted: September 11th, 2011 | Author: | Filed under: list building, SEO | No Comments »

The thick end of long tail keywords

keywordsAs you blog or website or blog expands you will see a pattern of inbound traffic emerging.

The main keyword of your site will deliver the biggest number of visitors but hundreds of other keywords will be bringing you traffic as well. These keywords are the longtail.

Most will deliver one visitor per month. It is not worth writing pages about these words but you will have used the phrases often enough that Google thinks they are close to what the user was looking for.

However there will be some keyword phrases that are finding your site 10 or 15 times a month. These are the thick end of the long tail.

What you want to do is pick out these thick end keywords and see if they can be used in low performing pages that are not getting much traffic.

You may think that it would be a good idea to write pages for some of these thick end keywords but only do this if there is  a way of making money from it.Otherwise blend them into your existing pages which already get good traffic.

And don’t worry about the thin end. These pages will keep bringing you one visitor at a time.Just keep writing great content and they will all add up.Your long tail will account  for 70%+ of your traffic.

I would recommend you check your longtail keyword list once every six months a see if a new “thick end” is emerging.Decide whether these need to go into more pages on your site only write a new page about them if they can bring you in more money.

How to you use thick end keywords?

What is Ezine Advertising Part 2

Posted: July 17th, 2011 | Author: | Filed under: Internet Marketing, list building | No Comments »

getting started in ezine advertsingIf you are just starting with Ezine advertising it is important you understand what the different advertising modalities are available.

The first one which is the most effective but also the most expensive is the solo ad.

It is so called because it is an ad sent by itself to a list of subscribers .These are people who have subscribed to a newsletter which provides information about a subject that is of interest to them.

The ad is sent in the form of an email. This method is very powerful in that the reader has nor other distractions when reading, which they do have when they are looking at an ad on a website or newsletter.

Also the advertiser knows that the reader is interested in the service advertised as he has carefully selected the newsletter subscribers he wants to target. So he can be confident of a high response rate.

The downside is solo ads are the most expensive form of ezine advertising. With a subscriber list of tens of thousands the cost of one ad can be hundreds of dollars.

The next ad types are spotlight or Sponsor ads which appear on the newsletter itself. They can be in one of three positions. At the top middle or bottom of the newsletter you are advertising in.

The top ad often goes above the newsletter banner as it is the most prominent also costs the most.

The middle ad will appear down the side of the newsletter either on the right or the left.

The bottom one will appear after the last article on the page and is the cheapest as it is”below the fold”.This means you must scroll down the newsletter to see it.Here is an example of a bottom ad:(not one of mine!)

There is a trick you can use with bottom ads.If you know what article the newsletter publisher will be using at the bottom of his newsletter you can place an ad for a product that relates to the article. This can prove quite a profitable system if you have a helpful newsletter publisher.

To quickly find the right Ezine for your niche I recommend you buy Charlie Pages’s   Directory of Ezines. It will cut your research time and only lists the best ezines for your niche.

Ezine advertising is a great way of building your list quickly and will compliment Google Adwords or Bing advertising when you move onto that.

Getting Started with Ezine Advertising

Posted: July 16th, 2011 | Author: | Filed under: Internet Marketing, list building | No Comments »

getting started in ezine advertsingOne of the best ways to build your list of email subscribers is to do some form of ezine advertising.

If you have been trying to build a list using free resources such as video social and article marketing I expect it is taking much longer than you would have hoped.

The truth is you must be adding a huge amount of content to the web if you are even going to be found by the search engines and even then it could be months or years before the effort pays off.

The truth is you must regard free marketing strategies as a long term method for generating leads. They will come eventually but they will take time.

The trouble is you do not have that time. You want to see an income coming in now.You may already be spending money on internet marketing products and want to see a return on your investment.

To get that you must have paid advertising as part of your marketing strategy. You can go down the Google Adwords route but unless you know what you are doing it could end up costing you a lot of money.

You must pay Google for every click that happens on your ads regardless of whether you get a sale or not.If your offer is not persuasive then you will get no sales.

With Ezine Ads you pay a fixed fee which can potentially give you a lot more clicks than you would otherwise get with Google for the same amount of money.

The more clicks you have the lower is the cost per click whereas with Adwords the more clicks you get the more you pay.

So how do you go about finding a placing an ad.

Go to Google and then type in the word or words that is your niche followed by the word”ezine” or “newsletter”

This will bring all the ezine or newsletters that operate in your niche. Then go the ezine website and see if they accept ads.

There are five types of ads solo, banner, classified, sponsored and advertorial.

The most effective but the most expensive are solo ads and sponsored.Sponsored ads can be placed at the top middle or bottom of the newsletter however at the top will get the most clicks.

Next write your ad with a compelling headline, list the benefits of the product and finish with a call to action.

If the ad gets you clicks then list it again with the same ezine only this time change the headline and see if that ad does better. If it does keep on changing it until you have an ad that you cannot better.

Then if it makes you money in excess of the cost of advertising run it forever.

I can tell you that researching the right ezine will take you alot of time but that time can be drastically reduced  if you get Charlie Pages’Directory of Ezines.

He lists all the major ezines not just in the “make money online” niche but a whole host of other niches.Often you can get discounts from ezine owners if you tell them you found their site through DOE..

His back office is full of great training and he will even do one on one Skype calls with you if you need help.Pretty cool eh?
